2021 DBY Lock Crowther Multihull Regatta - Update

The Lock Crowther Regatta organising committee met last Friday (7/1) and decided, in all the current circumstances, to postpone the Lock Crowther Regatta from 21-23 January to a date to be decided.

Our primary concern was for the wellbeing and safety of all people involved including skippers, crew and club personnel during the worsening COVID scenario we are currently facing.

We haven’t taken this decision lightly but feel as things are rapidly worsening on the COVID front, postponing (once again) is the most prudent, sensible thing to do.

We will advise you all of the new date once the decision has been made.

Take care and we look forward to seeing you all on the water soon.

History

Lock Crowther was regarded as a world class Australian pioneer of multihull yacht design.

We recognise his dedication to the development of the modern multihull and name this Regatta in his honour.

The Lock Crowther Regatta has been hosted by the RMYC since 1996 and offers multihull owners both exciting racing and cruising programs.

Due to COVID and NSW Health lockdown orders, the regatta has been moved from the traditional October long weekend and will now be sailed Friday 21 January 2022 to Sunday 23 January 2022 –starting with a Passage race on the Friday plus 4 inshore races sailed over Saturday and Sunday.

We are pleased to announce DBY Boat Sales has come onboard as the major sponsor of the 2021 event and we acknowledge and thank them warmly for their generous support.
